Acetronic was short for Advanced Consumer Electronics, Ltd., and was based in London, England.

History

Advanced Consumer Electronics, Ltd. was a wholly owned subsidiary of Dixons Group Plc that began operation in 1979 and ceased operation in 1981.

Products

They sold video game consoles using technology licensed from Radofin and distributed Intellivision games.

Their consoles were based on both the Radofin Tele-sports and the 1292 Advanced Programmable Video System.

The MPU-1000 was based on the Radofin 1292 Advanced Programmable Video System.
The MPU-2000 was based on the Radofin 1293 Advanced Programmable Video System.
The only major difference is that the power supply is outside the system in the MPU-1000 and inside the system in the MPU-2000.
