In 1987, the name of Williams Electronics was truncated to WMS Industries.

WMS Games

In 1991, WMS Industries formed the subsidiary WMS Games to make gambling games.

Acquisition by Scientific Games

In 2013, WMS Industries was purchased by, and became a wholly owned subsidiary of, Scientific Games.
