It includes a ship based on the ''[[Space Battleship Yamato]]'' (''宇宙戦艦ヤマト'', ''Uchū Senkan Yamato'') manga.

The name Micon Kit is a shortened version of the Japanese pronunciation of "microcomputer kit".
