UM6578 is a system-on-a-chip by the United Microelectronics Corporation.
Components
It contains a clone of a MOS Technology 6502 and a Ricoh 2A03, the components that make up a Nintendo Entertainment System, on a single chip.
Variations
The UM6578 was also sold by different companies, including Novatek Microelectronics as the NT6578 and Sino Wealth Electronic as the ST6578.
Release
The first known usage of the the UMC UM6578 was in the Bandai Gamepad plug and play controller in 1997.
