Electronics Boutique PLC
After a downturn in the video game market, Electronics Boutique acquired 25% of Rhino Group. Rhino Group was renamed to Electronic Boutique PLC and all of the Future Zone stores were rebranded to Electronics Boutique.

Electronics Boutique PLC acquired GAME in April 1999.
The Game Group
In April 2002, Electronics Boutique PLC was renamed The Game Group PLC and all Electronics Boutique stores were rebranded to GAME.
Even after the name change, The Game Group paid a 1% sales royalty to Electronics Boutique until January 2006.
Acquisition by OpCapita
In March 2012, companies such as Nintendo, Electronic Arts and Capcom would stock games at GAME over worries about its creditworthiness.
It entered administration on March 26, 2012, which led to the company becoming Game Retail Limited after being acquired by OpCapita.
Acquisition by Frasers Group
In June 2019, Game Retail Limited was sold to Frasers Group for £52 million.
