MultiVersus is a freemium battle royale crossover fighting video game developed by Player First Games.

Release

A closed alpha started on May 19, 2022 and ended on May 27, 2022.

The open beta started on July 19, 2022. The open beta closed for existing players on June 25, 2023.

MultiVersus was released out of beta on May 28, 2024.

Seasons

Season one of the open beta premiered on August 15, 2022, four days shy of one month into the open beta and six days after its announced release date of August 9.

Season two of the open beta launched on November 15, 2022, the day the first season ended. It was initially scheduled to end on February 14, 2023 and was extended to March 31, 2023. The end of the season on June 25, 2023 marked the end of the open beta period.

The first season of the public release of MultiVersus, subtitled "Puns & Villainy", premiered with the launch of the public release of the game on May 28, 2024.

Season two of the public release, subtitled "Back in Time", began on July 23, 2024.

Season three, subtitled "Sugar, Spice, & Everything Nice", began on September 17, 2024.

Season four, subtitled "Goth Girls", began on November 12, 2024.

Season five, originally planned to be released on January 21, 2025, started on February 4, 2025.

Closure

All online modes will be disconnected on May 30, 2025. Offline modes will remain playable.

Playable characters

As it was published by Warner Bros. Games, it includes characters that cross over from several popular franchises.

The characters are all owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, with the exception of the real-life basketball player, LeBron James, although he did star in a Warner Bros. film, Space Jam: A New Legacy.
