Nintendo System Development Division (SDD) was originally known as Nintendo Special Planning & Development from 1997 to 2008, as Nintendo Network Service Development from 2008 to 2011, and as Nintendo Network Business & Development from 2011 to 2013. After a corporate restructuring by Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, it was merged with Nintendo Integrated Research & Development to become Nintendo Platform Technology Development in 2015.
