The TRS-80 Model I Level II was a computer designed by Tandy and sold at Radio Shack stores.
It was an update of the TRS-80 Model I which came with 16K RAM standard.
It is branded as TRS-80, but is not compatible with the TRS-80 Model II, TRS-80 Model 12, TRS-80 Model 16, or TRS-80 Model 16B.
Release
The TRS-80 Model I Level II was released in the United States and Canada in May 1979.
Legacy
Tandy released the TRS-80 Model I compatible computers TRS-80 Model III in 1980 and TRS-80 Model 4 in 1982. The TRS-80 label was also used for a line of TRS-80-compatible printers.
As the TRS-80 was the best selling computer in the United States in 1977 and 1978, Tandy used the TRS-80 label for incompatible computers including the TRS-80 Model II in 1979, the TRS-80 Color Computer in 1980, the TRS-80 model II-compatible TRS-80 Model 12 and TRS-80 Model 16 in 1982, and the TRS-80 Model II-compatible TRS-80 Model 16B and the TRS-80 Color Computer-compatible TRS-80 Color Computer 2 in 1983.
