J. B. Straubel is a businessman.

Tesla

J. B. Straubel joined the Tesla electric car company in May 2004 as its first chief technical officer.

In 2009, Tesla co-founder Martin Eberhard was replaced by Elon Musk as CEO of Tesla and Musk claimed to be a co-founder of the company. Eberhard sued the company claiming that Musk was trying to rewrite the company's history by removing mention of the former as a co-founder.

A settlement was reached where Eberhard, Marc Tarpenning, Musk, Straubel, and Tesla's third employee Ian Wright were considered co-founders of the company.
