Sega Saturn was the fourth home video game console by Sega.

It was preceded by the Sega Genesis, including its Sega CD and 32X add-ons.

It was succeeded by the Dreamcast, which was the last home console by Sega, other than miniature retro consoles.

The Japanese marketing for the console often featured Segata Sanshiro, a character that would become popular enough to appear in his own video games.

The Sega Saturn was released in Japan on November 22, 1994, in North America on May 11, 1995, and in Europe on July 8, 1995.
